Tagged, by [livejournal.com profile] dvampyrlestat. Thanks dear, I actually like doing memes. XD

1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 56.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the next seven sentences in your journal along with these instructions.
5. Don't dig for your favourite book, the cool book, or the intellectual one: pick the CLOSEST.
6. Tag five other people to do the same.

The fifth sentence:

A good interactive product doesn't get in the user's way.

The next seven sentences:

It doesn't use elaborated guidance schemes and symbols, and it doesn't try to explain itself or to direct the users activities, unless the user wants it to. One way to remove obstacles is to let people interact with the content as directly as possible. Let them click the things they want to find out about, and give the simple express routes to the information they're looking for.

The book is Interactivity by design by Ray Kristof & Amy Satran. It's one of the books I'm using for my thesis. Kind of boring ne? Sorry, that was the nearest book I had. And all the others books I have right now are for my thesis too... Don't make me think, Web Site Usability a Designers Guide, Information Architecture for the World Wide Web and Graphic Design and Communication. I sound like a GEEK! XD

If I were to ignore the 5th sentence and went straight to the next seven,it would've never occurred to me that this book is anything about design. I'd have thought it'd be something even psychological!!!!

thanks for doing this meme, luv! And great luck on your dissertation!! :)

psychology? REALLY?????? I mean... REALLY? XD
Well taking out of context it does sound kind of weird.

That chapter is about usability and how you don't want any stuff or "garbage" as I called it on screen! There are so many website out there with SO many useless stuff. I like things clean and simple. Less is more. If I show you my work you'll understand my style in design. When you design a website you want the navigation to be intuitive and easy.

Thanks dear! I'll do my best! ^_^

Yes. Like...something discussing human behavior. Lolz.

Simplicity is beauty, I think. Some go for the flashy, but they get too complicated for the human eye to sort out what's good or pretty about it. Like, one time, my friend was looking at this intricately designed graphic and goes, "WOW." I asked, "what's WOW about it?"

He said, "I don't know." haha! Better make things clean and simple, right? XDDD

I like flashy when is WELL DONE! Take this vid for instance http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O9Loe3XM7v0

It's really well done. I like stuff like this! I like some of the t-shirts. Plus.. guys who wear stuff like this are my weakness, punk guys, or just plain weird guys and skinny... XD

But most of the time... yes clean and simple is better!
